BTTB UPDATE: A NEW STRATEGIC LEAD FOR BTTB

I’m incredibly proud to have founded Brickwork Tutors Toolbox (BTTB) in 2020. Over the past five years it has been a large part of my life, and I want it to stay relevant, valuable, and most importantly available to everyone who relies on it. 

BTTB began as a hobby, yet it has grown into one of the UK’s most respected brickwork education platforms. With over a thousand high quality resources, it supports tutors, learners, FE colleges, and private training providers nationwide. Because BTTB content is embedded in delivery across the country, it must remain accessible and, as promised, free for providers and learners. That has always been a non-negotiable for me.

I’m grateful to everyone who engages with BTTB and welcomes it and me into their learning spaces. My passion for content creation is still at an all time high, but as I get older I have known for a while that a priority for BTTB has to be the infusion of new leadership to help future proof it and take it to the next level. 

This brings me to Jack Dawson

Jack has long been one of my 'go to people' for new resources, shaping ideas through live learner feedback and acting as a first contact for tutor and employer input. He brings current industry insight, active partnerships, modern teaching practice, and a strong presence across FE, training providers, and the wider construction sector. With expertise in construction technology, apprenticeship delivery, and employer engagement, Jack will help lead BTTB’s strategic direction from here on.

Together, Jack and I share a clear vision: to evolve BTTB from a bricklaying resource site into a complete platform supporting learners, tutors, employers, and working bricklayers across the sector.

This includes:

✔ Expanding relationships with manufacturers and industry partners

✔ Developing modern digital resources aligned with construction technology

✔ Keeping BTTB relevant, innovative, and future facing

✔ Offering broader, real-world support for the challenges bricklayers face, something already reflected in the new “app style” resources developed in the latter part of this year

We’ll do this while staying rooted in the needs of tutors, learners, and employers.

Jack’s role alongside creating content will be to help lead, represent, and grow BTTB as we enter this next chapter. My experience of building diverse, well received content at pace, combined with Jack’s energy and sector presence, will ensure BTTB continues to grow and support the bricklaying community for years to come.
