A simple calculator to determine the distance of the striking points from the springing points on Gothic arches. The striking points will always sit on the springing line.

  • Springing points and striking points on an Equilateral Gothic Arch are the same.

  • For Lancet Gothic arches, the striking points will be measured externally (X) from the springing points.

  • For Drop Gothic arches, the striking points will be measured internally (Y) from the springing points.

Simply enter the given span and rise measurements. The measurement calculated is used twice (in relation to both springing points).
